What Actually Governs Your Exterior

A wall in Rio Linda is failing because of sun. The same wall in Isleton is failing because the ground never dries. In Soda Springs it is failing because snow sits against it for weeks and freeze-thaw levers the joints open. Those are three different problems, and a specification that solves one does very little for the others.

Most exterior advice — including most manufacturer guidance — is written for a national average. It has to be. We work in one region, so we can be specific instead: this page reports what the exposure data actually says for each of the 226 communities we serve, including where a factor everyone assumes is dominant turns out not to be.

A worked example: almost everything written about Sacramento County leads with heat and UV. On the Delta river towns — Walnut Grove and Isleton — that is the secondary story, and moisture governs. A crew arriving with a valley playbook will build something competent aimed at the wrong failure.
